Welcome to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. As discussed in our previous episodes, our prayers will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. Our prayer today will be aligned with the scripture taken from Romans 12:2, and it reads: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

The Lord is reminding us not to conform to the things of this world. Instead, be transformed by the renewing of our minds and our thoughts. By doing so, we will be equipped to recognize and demonstrate what is truly good, pleasing, and in alignment with his perfect will.

As we pray, let us focus our attention solely on God and not on our own earthly desires.

Let’s pray

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, thank you for this precious moment to pray, with reverence and gratitude. Help us to remember that it is a privilege to be in your presence, to call upon your holy name, and to open our hearts to you.

Father, thank you for reminding us through your Word that we are not to be conformed to this world, but we should be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we can discern and live out what is your good, acceptable, and perfect will. Lord, the world often presses hard against us, through its noise, its temptations, its endless demands, and its distractions. But thank you for this assurance. It is often easier to blend in than to stand apart, easier to adopt the patterns of this world than to surrender fully to your ways. At times we feel overwhelmed, at times we feel weak, and at times we even feel lost. But in your presence, we find peace, we find clarity, and we remember that we are not of this world, but chosen, set apart, and loved by you.

Lord, we acknowledge how quickly our thoughts can be shaped by fear, comparison, and distraction. Renew our minds. Wash our thoughts with your truth. Where there has been confusion, bring clarity. Where there has been negativity, bring hope. Teach us to think as you think, to see ourselves, others, and the world through your eyes rather than through the lens of culture, past wounds, or expectations.

Father, we surrender our assumptions and our habits to you. Help us to lay down the ways we have learned to rely on our own understanding instead of trusting your wisdom. Transform our hearts even when change feels uncomfortable. Shape our desires so that what we want increasingly aligns with what you want. Let obedience become not a burden, but a joy flowing from love.

Lord, help us resist the pressures that pull us away from you. Guard us from measuring our worth by success, productivity, or approval. Remind us that our identity is secure in you, not in our achievements or failures. Strengthen us to live Godly, speak righteously, act justly, and love sacrificially even when it costs.

Father, give us the spirit of discernment to recognize your will in our daily lives. Teach us to listen for your voice and to trust that your will is good, even when it challenges us or stretches us beyond our comfort. Give us patience when answers are not immediate and courage when obedience requires faith.

Lord, transform our relationships as you transform our minds. Help us to respond with grace instead of defensiveness, with humility instead of pride, and with compassion instead of judgment. Let the renewing work you do within us overflow into how we treat others, so that our lives reflect your love.

Father, we are praying for perseverance. Help us grow spiritually. When growth feels slow, remove discouragement and remind us that transformation is your work, not ours alone. Lord, thank you for reminding us that you are faithful to complete what you begin. That you do not abandon us in the process, but with us patiently, lovingly, and consistently.

Lord, in closing, thank you for reminding us that your will is not harsh or distant, but good, acceptable, and perfect. Renew us, align us, and transform us again. Let our lives bring you glory.

In the mighty, matchless, and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray…Amen.

Everyone, please have a blessed day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow.
