Aug 9 - Day 221. Pray to the Father.

Welcome to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from John 14:16. And it reads, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.” 

As we pray, let us pray with joy, for the Lord will provide us with a comforter. He will earnestly seek the Father in prayer, asking Him to send us another Comforter, a loyal presence who will be with us eternally, offering guidance, support, and support in every moment of our lives.

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Reliever. Father, we come before you with our hearts full of gratitude. You are the source of all life, the giver of every good gift, and the faithful One who never leaves nor forsakes us. Lord, our gratitude overflows as we consider the incredible gift of salvation that you have given us through Jesus Christ, a gift we could never earn on our own.

Father, you are reminding us that Jesus prayed on our behalf, and promise that he will send us another Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to dwell within us and abide with us forever. Lord, we are praying with joy and thanking you for the depth of your promise. What an assurance it is to know that you have not left us alone, for you have sent your Spirit to be our companion, our Helper, our Advocate, our Teacher, and our Guide.

Lord, thank you for the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. What a gift, that you have chosen to dwell within us through your spirit, making us living temples of your presence. May we never take this for granted. When our hearts are heavy, you comfort us. When we feel lost or uncertain, you guide us into truth. When we are weak, you strengthen us with power beyond our own. And when our prayers feel insufficient, you intercede for us with groanings that cannot be uttered in words. 

Lord, we cherish the relationship that you have invited us into, an intimate relationship not based on fear or distance, but on love and closeness. Through prayer, through reflection, through your word, and through the promptings of the holy spirit, you are inviting us to nurture this sacred bond daily. 

Father, at times, we forget that you are always with us. We worry as if we are alone. We strive in our own strength as if your spirit is not dwelling within us. Forgive us for the moments when we overlook your nearness. Restore in us an awareness of your presence, so that in every decision, every conversation, every challenge, and every blessing, we may live in constant communion with you.

Lord, we know that the spirit you have given us is not a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind. So, we are praying that you would take root deep within us. Fill us with your love and remind us of the power of your spirit. 

Father, deepen our sensitivity to the Spirit’s leading. Open our eyes to see where you are moving. Open our ears to hear your voice. Open our hearts to respond in obedience and trust. May we feel your comforting arms and remember that you are in control. 

Father, you promised that you would send us a companion who would walk with us through every valley and every mountaintop. And so, with confidence, we trust that we are never abandoned. Even when the world feels unstable, even when trials press hard against us, we stand firm knowing that your spirit abides in us. Teach us to walk daily in that assurance, surrendering our plans to yours and resting in your unfailing love.

Lord, as we close this prayer, help us not to close our hearts to you. May we carry this awareness of your spirit into our homes, our workplaces, our relationships, and every place we set our feet. May we be vessels of your love and your light to those around us.

Father, thank you for this moment of prayer, for the gift of salvation, for the presence of the Comforter, and for the eternal hope we have in Jesus Christ.
