Welcome to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. As discussed in our previous episodes, our prayers will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. Our prayer today will be aligned with the scripture taken from 1 Corinthians 6:20, and it reads: “You were bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Today, the Lord is reminding us that we were all brought with a price. As we pray, let us honor the Lord with our hearts and cherish the strength He is granting us in both our bodies and our spirits. We were all purchased at a high cost. It is essential to honor and glorify the Lord not only in our physical body but also in our spirit, for we belong to Him. Let us remember that this acknowledgment calls for a life lived in accordance with His principles and a commitment to reflect His love and grace in everything we do.

Let’s pray

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before you with humble hearts and grateful spirits, for the sacred gift of prayer. You are not a distant God, but a loving Father who is near to all who call upon you in truth. What a privilege it is to call upon your name, to sit in your presence, and to know that you hear us.

Lord, thank you for reminding us that we were bought with a price, a price so costly that it reshapes how we understand love, worth, and sacrifice. We thank you for Jesus, for his obedience, his suffering, and his willingness to lay down his life so that we could be redeemed. Help us never to treat that sacrifice lightly or forget the depth of love that carried him to the cross. Let the truth of our redemption settle deeply into our souls.

Father, so often we take for granted the price that was paid. We acknowledge with reverence and gratitude that our lives are not our own. We belong to you, body, mind, and spirit, because of the sacrifice of your Son, Jesus Christ, who shed his blood for us on the cross. Thank you for redeeming us from sin and death. Thank you for paying the ultimate price we could never pay.

Father, because we belong to you, we desire to glorify you not only with our words but with our lives. Help us never to allow the cares of this world, our worries, our distractions, and our weaknesses to cloud our minds. Lord, help us to lay those burdens at your feet. Help us to cast every worry onto you, surrender our thoughts, our fears, and our struggles, believing that you care for us. Teach us what it means to honor you in our bodies. Help us to care for what you have entrusted to us, to make choices that reflect reverence rather than neglect, and to treat ourselves with the dignity of those who are deeply loved by God. When we struggle with weakness, temptation, or weariness, remind us that your grace meets us there and strengthens us.

Lord, help us glorify you in our spirits. Shape our thoughts, our attitudes, and our desires so that they align with your heart. Cleanse us of bitterness, pride, fear, and anything that keeps us from walking closely with you. Fill us instead with peace, humility, compassion, and a deep hunger for righteousness. May our inner lives reflect the work you are doing within us.

Father, there are times when we forget who you are and who we are. In moments of doubt or shame, remind us that we are not defined by our past mistakes or present struggles, but by the price you paid for us. Help us to live with gratitude rather than guilt, obedience rather than obligation, and love rather than fear.

Lord, guide us in our daily actions so that our lives become an offering of worship. In our conversations, let our words bring life and encouragement. In our work, let our efforts be marked by integrity and excellence. In our relationships, teach us to love with patience, forgiveness, and grace, just as you have loved us. May everything we do reflect the reality that we belong to you.

Father, we are praying for areas of our lives that feel divided or surrendered to the things of this world. Shine your light into our lives and give us the courage to release control. Help us trust that your plans for us are good, even when obedience feels costly. Remind us that true freedom is found when we fully yield ourselves to you.

Lord, thank you for your constant presence and your faithful guidance. Thank you for the joy and sorrow, the strength and weakness, the certainty and doubt. Continue to mold us, refine us, and draw us closer to your heart. May our lives reflect your glory, not for our recognition, but so that others can see you and be drawn to your love.

Lord, in closing, we offer ourselves to you, trusting that we are safe in your hands. Help us live each day mindful of the precious price that was paid for us. We pray all of this with gratitude and hope, in the priceless, gracious, and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Savior…Amen.

Everyone, please have a blessed day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow.
