“Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust cause me to know the way wherein I should walk. For I lift my soul unto thee.” (Psalm 143:8)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Don’t stop praying. God's lovingkindness is revealed every day. "Lord, help us to be awakened each morning to the sound of your lovingkindness, let our heart finds their trust in you alone. Guide us along the path that we should follow, illuminating our way with your wisdom and grace. Help to lift our souls to you, seeking your presence as we navigate the journey ahead.”
Good morning, dear listeners! We are so glad to have you join us for another inspiring episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is April 6th, marking the 96th day of the year.
I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic, located in the beautiful city of Salem, New Jersey. Thank you for taking the time to gather with us during our prayerful connection with the Lord.
As we've discussed in our previous episodes, the foundation of our prayers will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. We started our spiritual journey with Genesis and are excited to continue all the way through to Revelation by the end of the year.
Today, we are continuing our focus on the book of Psalms. Our specific verse for today is Psalm 143:8, which reads: “Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust; cause me to know the way wherein I should walk. For I lift my soul unto thee.”
The Lord wants our desire to begin each day with a fresh awareness of his unwavering love and guidance. He is reminding us to seek his presence as our first act of the morning. This will allow his lovingkindness to clear our paths and direct our steps. As we lift our souls to Him, we foster a deeper relationship with our Creator, acknowledging our trust in His divine direction.
As we pray, let us take a moment to reflect on this powerful scripture and invite God's lovingkindness into our lives this morning.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father, Almighty God, our Wonderful Redeemer and everlasting King,
We come before you with grateful hearts, humbled in your presence, and filled with thanksgiving for the gift of life, the gift of salvation, and the blessing of another moment to pray.
Lord, thank you that in every season of life, we can call upon your holy name. whether in joy or in sorrow, in certainty or in confusion, you are near to us. You are reminding us to, “Cause us to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust. Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto Thee.”
Father, how comforting it is to know that every morning, your mercies are new, and your compassions never fail. We eagerly await the day when we will behold your glory face to face. Lord, illuminate our hearts with your light. Guide us, O Lord, along the paths we should take, and keep us walking in the way of righteousness for your name’s sake.
Father, help us to celebrate your presence within our sanctuary, within the walls of our church building, and in the sanctuary of our hearts. Lord, let your Spirit stir in us a deep spirit of worship, so we can overflow in reverence, gratitude, and joy. Let our worship be confined to songs and spoken words, so it can be seen by how we live, love, and serve one another. Let our lives become a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto you.
Father, we know that this world brings trials, burdens, and challenges, but you have overcome the world. Please fill our hearts with joy, peace, and hope that never fades. Help us to go through this day with lovingkindness.
Lord, bless our families, our friends, our community, and our church. Knit us together in unity through the power of your Holy Spirit. Let us not be quick to judge or slow to forgive, but let us be patient, kind, and compassionate, just as you have shown us.
Father, help us to be faithful witnesses of your truth. Let our actions reflect your character and let our words bring hope. Teach us to walk with you, to act justly, and to live mercifully.
Lord, may our hearts never grow cold to the wonder of your gospel. Help us to live each day with a grateful heart, as recipients of grace, eager to extend that grace to others.
Lord, as we close this prayer, we want to thank you for causing us to hear your lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do we put our trust. Help us to know the way wherein I should walk; for we lift up our soul unto thee. Let our hearts be filled with adoration. Help us to worship you and trust you with all our hearts. Keep us steadfast, until the day you return. And may our lives bring glory to your holy name in all that we do.
We pray this in the mighty and merciful name of our Savior, Jesus Christ…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
