Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is April 9th, marking the 99th day of the year. Let's give God thanks for another day and another moment to celebrate his goodness.

I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, the First Lady and Prayer Leader at Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. Thank you for taking the time to gather with us during our prayer.

As discussed in our previous episodes, our prayers will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. We started in Genesis and will close in the book of Revelation by the end of the year.

Today, our scripture will be taken from Psalm 147:5-7, which reads: “Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite. The Lord lifted up the meek: he cast the wicked down to the ground. Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God.”

The Lord is reminding us that, as we pray, He will instill in our hearts a desire for praise. So, let us give Him thanks for all that He has done for us.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father, our Infinite God and Miraculous Savior. Father, we come before you with our hearts full of admiration and reverence, humbled by your majesty. Thank you for granting us another opportunity to pray and to turn our thoughts toward you. Each day you awaken us with new mercies and remind us that it is your grace that sustains us and your love that gives us life.

Lord, as we reflect on the countless blessings you have poured into our lives, our hearts overflow with gratitude. We thank you for the moments of joy that remind us of your goodness, and even for the challenges that shape us, reminding us that you are our constant helper and guide.

Lord, today, during our prayer, we are joining with the psalmist.  “Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite. The Lord will lift up the meek, and he will cast the wicked down to the ground. So, let us sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God.”

Lord, we acknowledge that your power surpasses our comprehension. You spoke the universe into existence and brought justice against those who oppose you, reminding us that evil will never prevail in the end.

O Lord, as we gather in prayer, let us proclaim with heartfelt conviction, "Great is our Lord, mighty in power; His understanding knows no bounds." May we take this moment to reflect on the vastness of your wisdom and the depth of your knowledge. Lord, in this sacred time, we come before you with humble hearts, acknowledging your greatness, unmatched power, and your presence in our lives and the strength that comes from your infinite understanding.

Thank you for reminding us that your wisdom knows no bounds; it transcends our understanding and embraces the mysteries of the universe. We stand in awe of your infinite understanding, which guides us through our challenges and illuminates our path. May we always seek to reflect your grace and wisdom in our lives, trusting in your divine plan and sheltering ourselves in your everlasting love.

Lord, thank you for reminding us that you lifted the meek and cast the wicked down to the ground. You will raise those who are humble and gentle, bestowing upon them honor and strength, while you will bring low those who carried wicked intentions and acted unjustly, casting them down into the depths of despair. Lord, thank you for reminding us that true power lies not in pride, haughtiness or malice, but in the strength of meekness.

Father, help us to join the psalmist in celebrating your greatness. With thanksgiving, help us to sing praises in our hearts, help us to sing melodies of worship to honor your name. Even when we lack words or music, let the posture of our hearts become a song before you. Help us to sing not only with voices but with gratitude, humility, and submission.

Lord, you see each one of us, you see our struggles, you see our burdens, you see our pains. Many of us are seeking healing for our bodies. Some of us are seeking restoration for our families. Some of us are battling loneliness or wrestling with doubts. But you are reminding us that you care deeply for us. You are the God who hears, who heals, who restores, and who redeems.

Lord, fill our hearts with humility in all we say and do. Teach us to walk in meekness, not as weakness, and help us to respond with gentleness when the world demands harshness, and with compassion when anger feels easier.

Father, we are praying for strength to persevere in trials, strength to forgive when we are wronged, and strength to choose faith when fear seems overwhelming. Give us courage to follow your will even when the path ahead is uncertain, and wisdom to discern your voice above the noise of the world.

Lord, as we close this prayer, we do so with our hearts surrendered to you. May our lives be a living prayer, a continual offering of worship, gratitude, and obedience. Help us to trust you more deeply, to rest in your presence more fully, and to love others more selflessly.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray… Amen.

Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
