“The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous.” (Proverbs 15:29)
Welcome to another daily prayer. Keep on praying. God hears the prayers of the righteous and will deliver you. “The Lord is distant from those who commit wickedness and choose to live in rebellion against His ways. However, He attentively listens to the heartfelt prayers of those who strive to live righteously, offering them guidance, support, and understanding.”
Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is April 14th, the 104th day of the year, a wonderful opportunity for us to express our gratitude to God for the gift of life and the countless blessings he is bestowing upon us.
I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, honored to serve as the First Lady and Prayer Leader at the Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. I genuinely appreciate your willingness to take time out of your busy schedules to join us in this reflective moment of prayer.
As discussed in our previous episodes, our prayers will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. We began in Genesis and will conclude in Revelation by the end of the year.
Today, we will delve deeper into the book of Proverbs. Our scripture will be taken from Proverbs 15:29, and it reads: “The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.”
The Lord is reminding us that He is far from the wicked. But he is listening to our prayer.
So, let us pray and invite the presence of the Lord into our discussion.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father, our Lord, God, and Savior.
Father, we come before you with our hearts full of gratitude, acknowledging the beauty of this moment. Lord, thank you for the precious gift of prayer and for assuring us that “The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.”
Lord, Jesus Christ, we desire to be counted among the righteous, not by our own strength but through your righteousness. So, guard our hearts so we may remain steadfast in holiness. Teach us to resist the snares of the enemy, to flee from unrighteousness, and to seek the path that is pleasing in your sight. May your Holy Spirit guide us, convict us, and empower us to walk in obedience. Cleanse us from anything that separates us from you. Remove distractions, temptations, and desires that will pull us away from you.
Lord, thank you for reminding us that while you are far from those who dwell in wickedness, your ears are ever attentive to the prayers of the righteous. You understand our longing for justice and our yearning for strength, and you acknowledge our sincerity and devotion as we seek your guidance and support in times of struggle.
Lord, help us to live a life that honors you. Let every intention of our hearts, every word, and every action be a reflection of your love. Help us to remember that in prayer, you strengthen us, restore us, and remind us of who you are. Lord, let us never underestimate the power and ability of prayer lifted in faith.
Lord, even in moments of silence, when it feels like our prayers are unanswered, remind us that you are near. You are a faithful God who sees everything, knows everything, and understands everything. Help us to trust your timing and surrender to your perfect will, knowing that all things work together for the good to them that love you.
Father, deepen our relationship with you each day. Draw us closer to you, help us to worship thoroughly, and let us never take the privilege of being called your children lightly. Remind us that prayer is a conversation with the One who created us, redeemed us, and sustains us.
Lord, give us the strength to be living testimonies of your goodness. Let our lives draw others closer to you. May our kindness reflect your love, our patience reflect your grace, and our perseverance reflect your power. Use us as instruments of hope to carry your truth.
Lord, be near to the lonely, heal the sick, comfort the grieving, and provide for the needy. In times of struggle, remind us to pray. In times of joy, remind us to pray with thanksgiving. In times of confusion, remind us to pray for wisdom. And in all seasons, remind us to pray without ceasing, for prayer is the anchor that keeps us steady in the storms of life.
Lord, may we always remember that prayer is asking for blessings, aligning our hearts with your will, surrendering, listening, and resting in the assurance of your promises.
Father, in closing, let our hearts surrender to your will, our minds surrender to your truth, and our spirits surrender to your joy. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ…Amen.
Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
