“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10)

Welcome to another daily prayer. Pray with assurance. The name of the Lord serves as a strong tower, a fortress of protection and strength in times of trouble. Those who are righteous, having faith in this divine sanctuary, instinctively seek refuge in it and find safety from their doubts and fears.

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Today is April 16th, the 106th day of the year, a wonderful opportunity for us to express our gratitude to God for the gift of life and the countless blessings he is bestowing upon us.

I’m your host, Dr. Victoria Haddad, honored to serve as the First Lady and Prayer Leader at the Elyon Bible Church Apostolic in Salem, New Jersey. I genuinely appreciate your willingness to take time out of your busy schedules to join us in this reflective moment of prayer.

As discussed in our previous episodes, our prayers will be rooted in the 66 books of the Bible. We started in Genesis and will close in the book of Revelation by the end of the year.

Today, we will delve deeper into the book of Proverbs. Our scripture will be taken from Proverbs 18:10, and it reads: “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”

The Lord is reminding us that in him we are safe.  So, let us pray and invite the presence of the Lord into our lives.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, our God, and our Savior.

Father, we come before you with our hearts overflowing with gratitude. Thank you for the gift of prayer and for reminding us that “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”

Heavenly Father, today we come before you in prayer, surrendering our hearts and lives into your hands. We recognize that your name is a strong tower—an unwavering refuge in times of trouble. When we are faced with challenges, it is in your presence that we find safety and peace. We ask for the courage to run to you, trusting in your protection and guidance as we navigate the uncertainties of life. May our faith in your promises strengthen us, allowing us to experience the comfort and security that only you can provide.

Lord, help us pray to you, not in fear, but in faith, in hope, and in trust. Help us to acknowledge you as our fortress, our place of safety, our shield, and our ever-present help in times of trouble. Even when the storms of life rage, even when uncertainties surround us, help us to remain constant, unshakable, and unchanging.

Lord, sometimes we grow weary. Sometimes we lean on our own understanding instead of fully trusting you. At times, we forget to acknowledge your presence. Father, forgive us, for every time we’ve done that was not pleasing to you. Cleanse our hearts and renew our minds, so that we can live a holy life.

Lord, teach us to honor your holy name in everything we speak and every action we take. We are asking for your guidance in all we do. Help us to be faithful doers of your words. Give us wisdom to make choices that glorify you, strength to persevere through trials, and courage to stand firm in our faith.

Lord, help us to love others as you love us. Teach us to extend grace, to show compassion, to forgive, and to serve faithfully. Let our lives be living testimonies of your goodness. Let others see in us the positive nature that you are showering us with.

Father, some of us are hurting; wrap us in your comforting arms. For those who feel weak, be our strength. For those facing uncertainty, remind us that you go before us and make our paths straight. Lord, be the healer of all those who are sick.

Father, thank you for every blessing, both seen and unseen. Thank you for even when we stumble, your mercy will lift us up. Even when we fall short, your grace will cover us.

Lord, remind us that we are never alone. That no matter the season, you are beside us. Help us to rest in your promises, knowing that you are faithful to complete the good work you have begun in us.

Father, you are a wonderful and righteous God. Thank you for reminding us that the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous can run into it and be made safe. Help us to lean on you, our strong tower, and run into your security as we go through this day.

We pray all of this in the precious, powerful, and matchless name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ…Amen.

Everyone. Keep on praying, keep on trusting God. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
