June 3 – Day 154. Pray for a new heart

Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from Ezekiel 36:26-27, and it reads: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” 

Keep on praying. The Lord will give us a new heart and a new spirit. He will remove the hardened heart that has kept us distant and unyielding, replacing it with a tender heart that can feel and respond with compassion. 

As we pray, let us allow this transformation to take place within us. Let us seek a renewal that not only affects our hearts but also directs our lives towards fulfilling God's righteous purposes. So, we can understand the Lord's statutes and find the strength and desire to live by them. The Lord wants to embody his judgments in our daily lives.

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior.  Father, we gather in your presence with hearts brimming with joy, profound gratitude, and deep reverence. Each breath we take, every moment we experience, and each blessing that graces our lives flow directly from your loving hands, a testament to your unwavering goodness.

Lord, thank you for reminding us of your promise to grant us a new heart and to instill within us a renewed spirit. You have promised to take away our hearts of stone, often burdened by weariness and weeping, and replace them with hearts of flesh, hearts that beat with life, compassion, and understanding. You desire to breathe your Spirit into us, revitalizing our souls and guiding our thoughts and actions toward the paths of goodness and truth.

Almighty Father, help us to cling tightly to this promise. Remind us that you are not just the Creator of the universe but also a God of profound transformation. You wish to craft within us a renewed heart, one overflowing with compassion, love, and an unwavering sense of connection to others. May we open our hearts to this cherished gift and allow your grace to reshape our lives, pushing us toward deeper wisdom and greater purpose.

Lord, please search our hearts and reveal any hardness of heart that has taken root amid life's trials. Remove any layers of hardness that may have formed within us. The struggles we face in life, the weight of fear, the control of doubt, and the hurt of disappointment can harden our spirits and blind us to the beauty around us. Replace them with hearts filled with compassion and sensitivity. As the Great Physician, mend our hearts, help us truly feel your presence, to establish meaningful connections with others, and to embrace the richness of life with warm understanding. Guide us toward a divine renewal, enabling us to live in holiness. Please take away our hearts of stone and replace them with tender hearts, hearts open to your spirit, responsive to your word, and overflowing with compassion, mercy, and understanding toward our fellow beings.

Lord, you have promised to place your Spirit within us, guiding and empowering us to live in harmony with your divine will. This holy presence equips us to faithfully uphold your teachings and to embody your judgments in our daily lives. We place our trust in you, believing that through your Spirit, we will gain the strength, insight, and courage required to live out your desires with sincerity and unwavering commitment. May our lives reflect your light, lighting the world around us with compassion, mercy, and understanding.

Lord, help us to dedicate our hearts and lives fully to your service. Teach us to fix our gaze upon you, the Author and Finisher of our faith, drawing us ever closer to your loving embrace. In the midst of life’s noise and disorder, help us to discern your gentle whisper, guiding us with clarity and purpose. Grant us the discernment to recognize your will, the courage to follow it boldly, and the patience to wait upon your divine timing, trusting in your perfect plan.

Lord, let our words overflow with grace, acting as soothing relief to others. May our actions radiate like bright beacons of light in a world hidden in darkness and despair. Enable us to speak words of encouragement swiftly and to cultivate hearts that overflow with forgiveness. Mold us into vessels of your boundless love, instilling within us an enduring and fervent desire to uphold your commandments and walk faithfully in your ways. Let our devotion come from an authentic love for you, not from obligation or fear. Grant us rest in your comforting presence, strength in times of trial, healing for our wounds, and a constant reminder of your unwavering companionship. 

Father, may our lives resonate as living testimonies of your incredible grace and mercy. Let everything we undertake shine with your glory and honor, reflecting your holiness to those around us. In every aspect of our lives, may we point others to you, our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer.

Lord, thank you for hearing our fervent prayers and for the extraordinary gift of salvation. In the most precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray… Amen.
