Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from Jeremiah 17:10, and it reads: “I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”
The Lord knows our deepest desires and crafts plans perfectly suited to our individual needs. The Lord's examination will reward each one according to our deeds and the consequences that flow from the choices we make throughout our lives.
As we pray, let us reflect on the vastness of God's knowledge and His understanding of human nature. Let us be mindful of the paths we tread and let us earnestly strive to align our hearts and actions with the guidance that awaits us.
Dear Heavenly Father, our Almighty God. The Creator of heaven and earth, the One who fashioned us in your image and knows every detail of our hearts, today we come before you with hearts overflowing with gratitude. Lord, help us to acknowledge your greatness, your faithfulness, and the depth of your love toward us.
Father, thank you for reminding us that “you search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.” Lord, you see beyond the surface. You know us better than we know ourselves. Nothing is hidden from your sight. Our thoughts can lead us astray, our desires are not always pure, and sometimes our motives are mixed with selfishness or fear.
Lord, as we go through this day, please search our hearts and see beyond our outward actions and appearances. Reveal our innermost thoughts, intentions, and motivations. God, despite our weaknesses, help us to know that you observe our actions and actively test the integrity of our character.
Lord, you choose to love us with an everlasting love. You look past our faults and see our deepest needs. You see the places where we are broken and long for your healing touch. You see the burdens we are carrying, the tears we’ve shed, and the prayers we can’t even form into words.
Father, thank you for being so patient with us, so merciful toward us, and so steadfast in your compassion. You promise that you will reward and judge us based on our actions and the outcomes that result from them. Reveal to us whether we align with your ways. Wash over us, purify us from all sin. Renew our minds. Remove the thoughts that tear us down or pull us away from your truth. Replace them with thoughts of hope, courage, and faith. Create in us a clean heart and restore to us the joy of our salvation. Help us to desire not the things of this world, but the things that bring honor to you.
Father, draw us closer to you and fill us with a deep yearning for righteousness, a passion for holiness, and an eagerness to reflect your love. May our lives bear the fruit of your spirit. In a world full of noise, distraction, and temptation. Teach us to find stillness in your presence, to hear your voice above all others, and to rest in the assurance of your promises. Protect us from the systems of the enemy and keep us grounded in your truth.
Father, remember our family members, friends, and everyone who are praying. Help us not to grow weary in doing good. Strengthen our faith when we are weak, lift us when we stumble, and remind us of your presence in our lives. Help us to be a continual offering of praise to you, a testimony of your grace, and a reflection of your light.
Lord, in closing, we entrust ourselves to you. Help us to surrender our plans, our worries, our desires, and our future into your hands. Help us to surrender to you, so you can do with us as you will, and let everything we say and do bring glory to your holy name.
In the magnificent and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray…Amen.
Everyone. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
