Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from Jeremiah 29:11-12, and it reads: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. You will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.”
As we come together in prayer, let us take a moment to reflect on the incredible power of God’s promises. Our Creator understands the complex plans He has lovingly crafted for each of us. His desire is to fill our hearts with a sense of hope and a sense of purpose; He is yearning for our overall well-being. These are not just blueprints; they are detailed and thoughtful designs intended to guide us toward prosperity and fulfillment.
The Lord is reminding us that when we reach out to him during our prayer, when we call upon His name with sincerity and approach Him with open hearts, He promises to listen closely and attentively. His intention is to advance our spirits, steering us away from danger and putting us on the path ahead with bright hope and purposeful direction.
As we pray, let us remember that God is offering us the support we need to truly thrive in the future that awaits us. Let us seek His guidance and cultivate steadfast faith in the future He has carefully prepared for us, even when the circumstances we face seem frightening.
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before you with our hearts full of gratitude, acknowledging your sovereignty, your goodness, and the priceless gift of prayer you have given us. Lord, thank you for reminding us that we can come into your presence without fear, without hesitation, and without barrier, because of your redeeming love. Thank you for reminding us that through prayer, we are never alone, but always connected to you, the source of our life, our strength, and our hope.
Father, you know the plans you have for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. Lord, what a powerful promise. You are not a God of confusion or destruction, but of order, peace, and unfailing love. Father, help us to anchor ourselves in that truth, especially when the storms of life rage around us and it feels hard to see your hand at work.
Lord, sometimes our faith falters. Sometimes we become discouraged, anxious, or doubtful when we do not see immediate answers to our prayers. But even in those moments, you are reminding us that your timing is perfect, that your ways are higher than our ways, and that you are always working for the good of those who love you. Father, teach us to trust you deeply, to rest in your words patiently, and to cling tightly to your promises, even in the waiting moment.
Lord, when we “call on you and come and pray to you, you will listen to us.” Lord, thank you for the reminder of the importance of communication with you. Prayer is not just a routine but a critical connection through which we can express our needs and desires to him.
Father, pour into us the wisdom to discern your will. So often, we chase after our own ambitions and plans, forgetting to seek your guidance. Forgive us for the times we have relied on our own strength rather than leaning on you. Lord, remind us daily that apart from you, we can do nothing. But with you, nothing is impossible. Lord, even in times of trial, thank you for reminding us that there is hope.
Lord, be our peace. When doubt creeps into our hearts, be our assurance. When sorrow overwhelms us, be our comfort. When we are weary, renew our strength. Let us never forget that you are with us, for you go before us, and you surround us with your unfailing love.
Father, help us to lift our eyes from the temporary troubles of this world and fix them on the eternal hope we have in you. Remind us that the trials we face are not meant to destroy us, but to refine us, to strengthen our faith, and to draw us closer to you. May our suffering produce perseverance, our perseverance produce character, and our character produce hope that does not disappoint because it is rooted in you.
Lord, help us to trust in your plans, which are ultimately for our good. You promise to give us comfort during our life journey, for you are not distant but actively engaged in our lives. May we live in constant awareness of your presence, in every decision, every struggle, and every joy.
Lord, have mercy on those who are struggling, those who are sick in body, weary in spirit, or broken in heart. We are asking for your healing touch, your restoring power, and your tender mercy. Surround us with your presence, and remind us that we are not forgotten, that we are precious in your sight, and that you hold us securely in the palm of your hand.
Father, we also bring before you our families, our friends, and our communities. Protect each and every one of us from harm, guide us in truth, and cover us with your grace. Strengthen our relationships, bring peace where there is conflict, and shine your light into places that feel dark or hopeless. Help us to be instruments of your love, extending kindness, forgiveness, and compassion to those around us.
Lord, thank you for the hope we have in you, a hope that is steadfast, unshakable, and eternal. You are reminding us that no matter what we face in this life, it cannot compare with the future that is secure in you. Lord, thank you for the promise of your presence now and the assurance of eternal life with you in heaven. These truths give us courage, peace, and joy even in the midst of uncertainty.
Father, as we close this prayer, fill us with your spirit. Strengthen our faith, renew our minds, and soften our hearts to hear your voice. Let our lives be living testimonies of your goodness and grace. Lord, help us to live with humility, with obedience, and with love, always seeking to glorify your name in all we do.
Lord, we give you all the honor, all the praise, and all the glory, for you alone are worthy.
In the holy, precious, and mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray…Amen.
Everyone. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
