Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from Jeremiah 32:40, and it reads: “I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me.”
The Lord promises to establish a lasting covenant with us and pour out his goodness upon us, ensuring that his blessings and kindness will never cease. Furthermore, he promises to instill within us a reverence and respect for him, nurturing a steadfast spirit that will guide our hearts. This deep-seated fear will empower us to remain unwavering in our commitment, ensuring we will never turn away from the Lord's presence.
As we pray, let us ask ourselves the questions. What does it mean for us to live under the assurance that God will continually do good in our lives? How does this call to reverence our relationship with God shape our daily actions? And how do we understand this everlasting covenant that can transform our lives and deepen our faith?
Dear Heavenly Father, our Lord, God, and Gracious Savior. Father, we come before you with our hearts full of gratitude, reverence, and humility. Lord, you are the one who knows us fully and loves us unconditionally. Your love is deeper than the oceans, higher than the mountains, and more constant than the rising sun. We are in admiration of your majesty and your love towards us.
Father, thank you for reminding us that “you will make an everlasting covenant with us: you will never stop doing good to us, and you will inspire us to fear you, so that we will never turn away from you.”
Lord, how comforting it is to know that you never stop doing good to us, even when we falter, even when we wander, even when our faith fails. You remain faithful, you remain merciful, and you remain loving. Help us to reflect on the countless blessings you are pouring into our lives. The opportunities to grow, even in times of difficulties. Lord, you are working miracles that we may not understand and protecting us from dangers seen and unseen.
God, help us to see the deep and enduring relationship that you desire to maintain with us. A commitment to goodness and an invitation to cultivate a respectful fear that acknowledges your majesty and fosters a steadfast faith with you. Help us never to take these blessings for granted. Soften our hearts that we may remain aware of your goodness every day. Help us not to grow complacent in our faith and never allow the distractions of this world to steal our focus away from you.
Lord, help us to stay in your truth and stand firm on the foundation of your word. Give us the strength to remain committed to serving you. The world often pulls us in directions that do not align with your purpose. Father, remove the temptations that surround us. Give us the discernment to recognize what is yours and what is not. Give us the courage to say “yes” to your will.
Father, teach us to love as you love, to be sacrificial as you are sacrificially, and give abundantly as you have given us. Let our words be gentle, and our actions reflect your compassion.
Lord, we pray not only for ourselves but also for those around us. Remember our families, our friends, and our neighbors. May your boundless love surround each one of us as we go through the day. Lord, in this ever-changing world, where confusion and fear often take hold, grant us clarity of mind and peace of heart. Help us to stand on your promises daily, for you are our ever-present help in trouble.
Lord, let your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds. Let your love surround us each day; as we work, as we rest, as we speak, and as we serve. Let your love be the reason we forgive, the reason we persevere, and the reason we have hope.
Lord, we are yours. Because of you, we are free, we are forgiven, and we are no longer bound by fear. Let us never forget the price you paid for our salvation.
Father, we close this prayer with grateful hearts, trusting in your promises, and rejoicing in your love.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray…Amen.
Everyone. Have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
