Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. As mentioned earlier, our prayers throughout the year will be taken from the 66 books of the Bible. We began in the book of Genesis and will conclude in the book of Revelation.

Today, we are diving into the book of Nahum. Our scripture will be taken from Nahum 1:7, which reads: “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble. and he knows them that trust in him.”

The Lord is reminding us that He is a good God, especially during our moments of disappointment and depression. In times of distress, when we may feel lost or overwhelmed, he is providing us with strength and security. He is a reliable refuge during life's storms, offering not only relief but also support to all who seek his presence.

God's understanding runs deep; he truly cares for each of us who places our trust in him. With a heart full of compassion, he guides us through our challenges with his unfailing love and faithfulness. This divine assurance brings comfort and hope, reminding us that we are never alone in our struggles and that his light shines most brightly in our darkest hours.

As we pray, let us lean on him during our prayer, for he is a source of peace and resilience that empowers us to rise above adversity.

Dear Heavenly Father, our Good God, wonderful Savior, and awesome Redeemer. We come before you with humble hearts, filled with gratitude for your goodness and mercy. Thank you for the precious gift of prayer and for reminding us that “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knows them that trust in Him.” Help us to cultivate deep trust in your provision and to share your loving protection with those seeking shelter. Lord, empower us to walk the path of righteousness so that all may go well for us. We desire to inherit the good land reserved for our ancestors, a place of hope and abundance reflecting your generous giving.

Lord, as we navigate life, reminds us that we will encounter seasons of joy and hardship, smooth paths and rough roads. Yet through it all, you remain faithful. Even when our faith wavers and our hearts grow weary, your love stands unshaken.

In times of uncertainty and adversity, help us seek your shield from harm, for your presence brings comfort and peace. Fear may try to take hold, uncertainty may cloud our thoughts, and grief or pain may weigh on our spirits. But you are our stronghold, a fortress unmovable, a shelter that never fails, a place of safety against the storms of life. You control every circumstance for our good, knowing our tears, longings, and desires.

Father, we are praying for those in trouble: burdened by illness, struggling financially, feeling broken in relationships, or walking through valleys of loneliness. We seek comfort and peace. Be our stronghold and shelter. Wrap your loving arms around us, reminding us daily that we are not abandoned. When burdens feel too heavy, remind us that you bear our weight and care deeply for us.

Sometimes we are tempted to rely on our own strength, to trust our understanding, or seek security elsewhere. But today, we reach out to you. Teach us to trust you more deeply, to surrender fully, and to find rest in the safety of your presence.

Lord, remind us daily that your goodness is not just what you give but who you are. You are good in the morning, good in the evening, and good in every season of our lives. Your goodness is independent of circumstances. Even in trials, you are good. In sorrow, you are near. In the waiting, you work all things together for the good of those who love you and are called according to your purpose.

Father, we are also praying for everyone who is hearing this prayer. Surround each and every one with your peace right now. Calm anxious hearts, lift the weight of despair, fill empty places with hope, and let them feel your presence. Remind them you have better plans for them, plans for a future and a hope.

Lord, teach us to lean not on what is temporary but to place our confidence in what is eternal. Heal our land. Bring reconciliation where there is strife, compassion where there is indifference, justice where there is oppression, and peace where there is turmoil. Grant us the strength we need to reflect your goodness in the lives of others. Help us carry the burdens of those around us, becoming safe places for the weary, so they may come to know and trust in your unfailing love.

We seal this prayer in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Amen.

Everyone. Please have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
