Welcome to another episode of the EBC’s Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from Zechariah 8:13, and it reads: “And it shall come to pass that just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not fear, let your hands be strong.”
The Lord wants us to pray with assurance and not to fear. He will save us, and it shall come to pass that, just as we have been seen as a source of hardship and a curse among nations, God will bring about our salvation. And we will become a beacon of hope and a blessing to those around us.
As we pray, let us be steadfast in our spirit and be strong as we embrace this heavenly promise.
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, as we gather in your presence, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for the precious gift of prayer. It is in this divine conversation that we can connect with you, for you are our source of hope and strength. Help us to hold tightly to your faithfulness.
Lord, thank you for reminding us that even though some of your people once endured seasons of shame and deportation, when they were seen as a curse among the nations, you never abandoned them. You promised to save them, so they shall be a blessing.” Even now, Father, that same enduring promise resonates within our hearts.
In the moments when we feel abandoned, bring us a sense of belonging. Where we carried heavy burdens of guilt and shame, please forgive us. In times when we are cast down spiritually, lift us and rejuvenate our spirits with the strength that only you can provide.
Lord, you are the God of restoration. Thank you for transforming our curses into blessings. Many of us bear wounds scored by our past, mistakes, regrets, and failures that sought to define our worth. Just as you redeemed the nation of Israel, you are redeeming us. You are molding us into saints who bless others, who radiate your light in the darkest corners of the world, who advance in courage rather than fear. Lord, help us trust you wholeheartedly; no matter the trials we faced, your divine plan is greater, and your mercy is beyond compare.
Father, give us the courage we need. Empower us to be strong and steadfast. Fear often emerges in large doses: fear of the unknown, fear of rejection, fear of failure. Yet in our uncertainty, you call us to stand firm, to strengthen our faith, and to move forward courageously.
Lord, we are praying for renewed strength. Strength to serve even when fatigue weighs us down, to forgive, even when it seems impossible, and to hope, even when our circumstances seem hopeless.
Lord, help us to be a blessing wherever we go. In our homes, in our workplaces, and in our communities, let us shine brightly as beacons of hope. Let the world witness your presence, and may our words point others toward your saving grace.
Father, we surrender ourselves to you. We lay down our fears, our weaknesses, our doubts, and our failures at your feet. In their place, we take up your promises, boldly proclaiming that we are not forsaken but chosen, not cursed but blessed, not forgotten but dearly loved. May we live each day strengthened by faith, overflowing with courage, and fixed on the hope of your coming.
Lord, we close this prayer with hearts full of gratitude, just as you promised to reside with us, your people. We are inviting your holy presence to dwell among us. May your peace cover us under your blood, your joy fill our souls, and your love knit us together. Please wipe away every tear from our eyes and give us the strength to keep on praying. Until that glorious day when we will see you.
We pray all this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior…Amen.
Everyone. Please have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
