Welcome to another episode of the EBC's Prayer Podcast. Our scripture will be taken from Luke 12:12, and it reads: “For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
The Lord is reminding us that in moments of devotion, the Holy Spirit will guide us in all wisdom. In that very moment, when we find ourselves needing guidance or words to express, the Holy Spirit will provide us with the wisdom and understanding we require.
As we pray, let us trust that we will be inspired and equipped with the right message to communicate, even if we feel unprepared.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Savior. Father, we come before you with our hearts overflowing with deep gratitude. Thank you for the incredible blessings you are bestowing upon us in every season of our lives, whether we are rejoicing in joy or navigating through sorrow, drawing strength from your presence, or feeling the weight of our weaknesses. Help us to know that we can approach you directly.
Lord, sometimes life feels like an unstable sea of confusion, overwhelming demands, and uncertainty. But you are the gift of the Holy Spirit, you are our comforter and steadfast guide. In your boundless mercy, you have not abandoned us to navigate these storms alone. You have gifted us with the Spirit of Truth, who assures us with the promise: “The Holy Spirit will teach us in that very hour what we ought to say.”
Father, how reassuring it is to know that even in our moments of silence, when words get away from us, you will fill our mouths and hearts with the exact words we need, crafting our thoughts for you are a skilled craftsman. Teach us to rely on your Spirit each day. Help us resist the temptation to rely on our limited understanding or to rush ahead with our own built-in wisdom.
Lord, forgive us for the times we've placed our trust in our own decisions instead of resting securely in your divine presence. Instill in us a desire to pray and spiritually learn, so we can always hear your voice through the noise of this world.
Lord, in moments when life clouds our thoughts and discouragement weighs heavily on our spirits, remind us of your ever-present help. Help us to see the vastness of your faithfulness. Pour your peace into our hearts and transform our understanding. Strengthen our faith and reveal the way you have in store for us.
Father, we are praying for our families, our communities, and the world that longs for your guidance and healing touch. Lord, let your Holy Spirit teach us in every hour what we ought to say. Send your Spirit to wrap around us, especially those who are grieving, encourage those who feel abandoned, and awaken the hearts of those who have wandered away from you.
Lord, teach us the importance of praying and surrendering to you. Help us to listen amidst the noise of the world, the countless voices struggling for your attention. May we discern the leading of your Spirit within us. Let our speech be seasoned with grace, our decisions molded by your infinite wisdom, and our lives brightened by your truth. Grant us courage, especially when the path feels unreasonable, and empower us to endure during moments when we feel tempted to surrender.
Father, equip us with your gifts, inspire us to serve with joyful hearts, and enable us to love in ways that far surpass our own capabilities. Help us to lean not on our own strength, but to trust in the magnificent truth that when we are weak, you will manifest your strength within us. May we become living testimonies of your grace, vessels through which your Spirit flows, bringing light, hope, and healing to the world.
Lord, help us to rest in the assurance of your promise. You are faithful to complete the good work you began in us. We entrust our lives into your hands, seeking your guidance in every step we take. May we never lose sight of your guiding presence, never forget the comfort of your Spirit, and never cease to pursue your wisdom in every decision we make.
In the holy and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray…Amen.
Everyone. Please have a great day, and by God’s grace, we will pray again tomorrow…Bye-bye.
