July 30 – Day 211. God's desire is for you to be saved

Welcome to another episode of our EBC Prayer Podcast. Our scripture today will be taken from John 3:17-18, and it reads, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” 

The Lord is guiding us toward a life overflowing with joy. For did not send his Son into the world with the intent to condemn humanity; rather, his purpose was that the world might find salvation through him. That those who place their faith in him are free from condemnation, and those who choose to remain in disbelief are already in a state of condemnation, having rejected the truth of the only begotten Son of God. 

As we pray, let us remember that the Lord's invitation to faith underscores the love and mercy he extends to all. He is highlighting the transformative power of belief and urging us to choose to accept the grace offered through Christ.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father. Our Lord, God, and Gracious Savior. Father, we humbly come before you in this sacred moment, with humble hearts, hearts that are in need of your presence, your truth, and your mercy. Thank you for reminding us that “You did not send your son into the world to condemn us, but to save us.”

Lord, your boundless love extends to everyone, regardless of our past. Many of us carry the burdens of guilt, shame, and fear. And you are reminding us that your intention is not condemnation, but redemption, not rejection, but restoration.

Father, we acknowledge the weight of that love. Jesus came willingly, obediently, and sacrificially to bring us back into fellowship with you, and we are invited to partake in the hope and promise of eternal life that you are generously offering. It is your desire for all to be saved.  

In a world that often feels hopeless, divided, and broken, you remind us that hope has a name, and that name is Jesus Christ. You remind us that salvation is not about what we can achieve or how good we can be, but about who we believe in. Thank you for this free gift of grace that was bought with the highest price, the life of your Son.

Lord, as we navigate the challenges of our lives, help us to share this love and hope with others. We confess that there are times when we forget this truth. We confess that we often live as though we are condemned, carrying around guilt that you have already washed away through your blood. Forgive us and help us not to let fear, doubt, and self-condemnation have the final word, rather than trusting you.  May we pray daily in the freedom and assurance of knowing that through your faith, there is no condemnation, only life, peace, and everlasting hope.

Father, for those who have not yet believed, we lift them before you. We are interceding on behalf of family members, friends, neighbors, and everyone praying. Thank you for reminding us daily that you are the Savior of the world. Remove the scales from our eyes, soften our hearts, and draw us closer into your presence. Help us to understand that our belief in you is about entering into life, forgiveness, and reconciliation with you.

Lord, give us the courage that we may not keep this hope hidden but share it with compassion, humility, and love. May our lives reflect the truth that we are no longer condemned, so that others might be drawn to your light through us. Let every word we speak, every act of kindness, every action of grace be a testimony that you are alive and saves.

Father, have mercy on those who feel condemned right now, those who are battling addictions, those who feel trapped by their past mistakes, those who struggle with shame, guilt, or unworthiness. Wrap us in your love and remind us that condemnation is not from you. Remind us that if we place our faith in you, we will be clothed in His righteousness, set free from the chains of sin, and given a new name, beloved child of God.

Lord, thank you for your promises that do not fail, that your mercy is new every morning, and that your grace is sufficient for every weakness. Thank you that salvation is not something we must strive endlessly to earn, but something we receive freely when we believe in you. Help us to never take this gift for granted.

Lord, as we continue in prayer, we surrender our worries, our failures, and our fears to you. We bring before you our pain and our longing, knowing that you are faithful to carry them. Fill us with your peace that passes all understanding, and strengthen our faith so that we may walk boldly in the truth of who you are.

Lord, we look ahead with hope. May our lives continually echo your truth, for you came not to condemn, but to save, and that through you, all who believe are set free. We know that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Until that day, keep us faithful, rooted in your Word, and living witnesses of your power. 

In the mighty, matchless, and merciful name of Jesus Christ, we pray…Amen.
